go to what's new

2007 was another exciting and successful year for Chuck Haney Photography. I did my usual array of trips across the American West and Midwest resulting in some of the finest images that I have ever captured. It has been so much fun to keep up with all the new technology. It really is getting closer each year to producing images that actually translate to what your eye sees. My goal is to make images that closely relate the experience of being there with out overly manipulating them in Photoshop, for example. In hindsight, film was REALLY limiting. I now do most of my color correction directly in the RAW conversion process and very little in the actual Photoshop program. All these new things each year keep the photography fresh and renew my inspiration to be one of the best photographers out there.

This year I purchased the Canon Mark III camera body. Those of you, who know me, know that I am a loyal Canon user. The sensor on this new camera blows away anything out there before. It’s amazing what you can do with the higher ASA, like 800!

Looking forward to 2008. I have seven workshops scheduled with several new locations planned. I will be making a long trip in the Midwest come spring. Waterfalls in Illinois, cycling in Ohio and then back through the tallgrass prairies of Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska will keep me busy. I’d really like to see a tornado, but not get that close; maybe I’ll get a chance to use my new Lightning Trigger that I purchased this past year. Next autumn, I will be traveling to North Carolina for the first time to write and shoot an article for Adventure Cyclist Magazine. Can’t wait!

P.S. Shutterbug reviewd my website, and they had some nice things to say, click to read the review.
