 Price: $3000.00 single occupancy/ $4800.00 couples sharing a room.  Workshop price includes 4 nights lodging at St Mary Lodge West Motel and instruction only. Transportation and meals are students responsibility. We will carpool. Limited to 8 students.

Cancellation Policy:If you cancel and the workshop is otherwise filled, we will refund you the full amount you have paid towards the tuition, minus a $150 service charge. If you cancel and the workshop does not fill, then you will be refunded according to the following schedule, based on the full fee of the Workshop:

Greater than 90 days from the start date of the Workshop: full refund minus $150 fee.

Less than 90 days: no refund

Refunds will be paid by the same method that the original payment was made.

Itinerary: Glacier National Park Photo Workshop

Thursday September 25 – “Meet and greet” in the lobby at St Mary Lodge. Please bring some examples of your previous work to share. 

Friday September 26- explore the east side of Glacier National Park – exact locations are weather dependent

Saturday September 27- am- explore the east side of Glacier National Park

Sunday September 28- explore the east side of Glacier National Park explore the east side of Glacier 

Monday September 29- explore the east side of Glacier National Park workshop concludes after the morning field session

Location: Glacier National Park Photo Workshop

If you haven’t been to Glacier before, now is the time! It is truly my favorite national park and basically in my backyard. I have been exploring and photographing the wonders of the park for over 30 years and know it extremely well. I have secured 8 precious rooms at the St Mary Lodge West Motel for the last 4 days of their 2025 season to take advantage of the changing autumn colors which should be nearing peak color. Also, the park will be a bit less crowded at this time of year compared to the crowds of July and August.

The workshop will be based out of the small town of St Mary on the park’s more scenic eastern side. We will have many great photo options including autumn aspen groves, waterfalls and wildlife. Two Medicine, St Mary and Many Glacier Valleys will be full of fall color and lakes that can yield stunning reflections on calm mornings. In the past we have had very good luck photographing moose in a small lake. Bighorn sheep and mountain goats frequent Logan Pass so bring your telephoto lens.  

This class offers a great opportunity to sharpen and improve many aspects of photography skills in a special and unforgettable setting.

EQUIPMENT SUGGESTIONS: A sturdy tripod is a necessity for good landscapes. Participants should have a working knowledge of their equipment (know which button does what!) before the workshop. I suggest a SLR camera with a wide-angle lens (24-105mm is great for landscapes. If birding or wildlife are more your interest then I would suggest bring a lens like in the 100-500mm range, or more. We have also had some point and shoot shooters attend so don’t feel you have buy that latest and greatest. There’s a lot to learn just by seeing.
