Location:

This is another special region that makes Montana so wonderful and we will take advantage of one of the best months of the year to photograph here. Cherry tree orchards should be in blossom along Flathead Lake. Dramatic relief of the Mission Mountains towers over a valley full of wetlands ponds in the Ninepipe Wildlife Management Area. The wetlands are not only a great place for bird photography but make for great spots to capture reflections on calm days. There are several great vistas along the Flathead River that reveal the spectacular snow-capped Mission Mountains backdrop. We will visit the National Bison Range where there is plenty of birds and wildlife to keep any photographer happy. The scenic vistas aren’t bad either, especially in the evening. The famed Red Sleep Drive will just be opening up for the season. The arrowleaf balsamroot wildflowers are outstanding in May.

Since this area is close to my home, I know the terrain very well, I have not offered this class in a few years, so I am more than happy to return and share my local knowledge with my fellow photographers.
